After nurse training at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Ruth’s started her career in a small but busy emergency department where she stayed for eighteen months. However the possibility of working as a nurse abroad was an opportunity too good to miss, so off she went to satisfy her wanderlust. On returning to the UK, although nursing remained in the background through agency work, Ruth worked in several different fields including the training industry and financial auditing. After a few years nursing came back into the forefront and a staff nurse position at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, Emergency Department was obtained. Planned to be nothing more than a stepping stone before going abroad again, somehow those plans fell through. Time passed as career development took off including becoming an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, currently her predominant function within her roles.
