Clinical Viva

The assessor will complete this proforma during/immediately following discussion on a topic with the learner. The assessor documents a precis and pertinent points to address any learning outcomes, comments that identify strengths and weaknesses of the learner’s knowledge.

It is recommended that the Learner will reflect on the assessor's comments and a) explain how these will impact on their practice b) identify any further learning needs. The learner may wish to use the Reflection on Clinical Viva Proforma available on FEN website.

This could be a potential clinical presentation (e.g. patient with acute asthma) or specific topic (e.g. management of an unconscious patient). For discussion on actual patient then the Case Based Discussion (CBD) form should be used
